Kristin's much anticipated Closed Circuit TV (reading machine) arrived yesterday. Her first request was to find her hymnal as she wanted to read the words to 'When Peace Like A River' which is her favorite hymn. She found the song and silently read the lyrics then hummed the melody. Pretty soon Kristin was singing in her sweet voice accompanied by her father who croaked out his meager contribution. This device is something that KK has been longing for over the past months and brings to an end her reading drought of some four or more years. We are all so very thankful that her Grandmother's gift to us made this a reality for her.

It makes us so very happy to see that Kris has at last gotten her CCTV. This opens a door that has been shut to her for four years. I can well understand why the first reading she'd want to do was that of a favorite hymn where she not only could read the words but also read the notes, a double pleasure. Happy reading Kris!
I had difficulty reading this . . . through tears. What a wonderful gift. Grandpa loved hymns so much and would have been really happy to know that he and Grandma had done this.
How special to see this! Kristin, I hope you get many pleasurable hours and much practical use from it. So glad to know you finally have what you've badly needed.
