New Raised Vegetable Beds in Vancouver
Evan constructed three raised beds for vegetables in our back yard from lumber languishing in the basement plus some purchased boards. The two smaller boxes are 4x6 feet, and the larger one is 4x10. The beds were built over the former vegetable plot, so all is still in transition. That is why you see varying soil levels and a zucchini and basil growing in what will eventually be the path. Winter vegetables have been transplanted and seeded, and kale (Evan's bane) is sprouting everywhere due to a recent rain.

Let's face it, I cut a few of the boards (3 of the 12), drilled and screwed them together. That being the sum total of my available talent, I then went back to the computer while Janice prepared the soil, dug the trenches, and leveled everything perfectly.
This new set up looks very promising! It's an eye pleasing arrangement and will help organize the garden to an even greater degree. Amy's quick response was "we should do that". I may be sawing and screwing soon!
Janice, Are you eating red tomatoes now? We picked out first one yesterday.
