Rural Indiana
Thursday morning April 30th I drove from Goshen to the Indianapolis Int'l Airport to pick up Bruce. I enjoyed the scenery along the way as I listened to an audio book on CD, Thomas Hardy's "The Return of the Native". An interesting bit of coincidence, Paul was listening to the very same book! These photos were all taken on the return trip, from the moving car as Bruce drove, the exceptions being the one of the Wabash River on the way to the airport and that of the cardinal in a bush by the Hampton Inn parking lot.

Some of you might be interested to know that when Mark learned a long time ago of my Toyota mini-van radio having gone out, he gave me a CD player that can be powered through the cigarette lighter. It has opened up to me the world of audio books. As a result, I have shared the experience he has had of listening to Patrick O'Brian's Napoleonic War naval series, now in book 7, narrated by Patrick Tull. I had previously read the series but the listening experience has made it all new again and brings out many details I would not be able to observe in reading it myself. Another shared experience with Mark is that on this last trip to Goshen, we each completed listening to Patrick Tull read Thomas Hardy's "Return of the Native"! It was a pleasure for me making the trip up to Goshen: Peet's coffee in hand; Patrick Tull reading to me; a sunny day; and, seeing three of my brothers together with Mom and Dad.
